Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In late summer 2014, just before a second cancer operation, I met a group of children on the beach of the River Thames, almost opposite St Pauls. Bronwen, mother to two of the children saw that I had a camera and asked me to take a photograph of them. And so a friendship began between people who knew medicine and scars. Between people who knew how the power of the human spirit can overcome massive obstacles. We shared a joy in living.
When my own health permitted, I started to document the children by photographic portraiture. I am traveling to Africa with my son to meet some more of the many Children of Fire. But for now I am committed to trying to walk their annual fundraising walk with them. I do not know if I can do the whole walk, but please sponsor this endeavour because each pound helps with a child’s surgery or therapy; or with the bigger dream of designing a specialist hospital. They need treatment that they mostly cannot get in their home countries because the world is skewed. If you are a UK tax payer you can add Gift Aid of 25% at no extra cost to you.
