Allan passed away on the 1st August, 2014, following a long, brave fight against cancer. Allan had suffered from Paget's disease for several years and his cancer was a direct development from his Paget's. 

The progression to cancer seems, thankfully, to be relatively rare, however his family felt it appropriate that any donations should go to research into the illness, in the hope that in future a way can be found to cure anyone unfortunate enough to be led down the same path as Allan.
