Many of you may know that I recently lost one of my closest friends to mental illness. After a long struggle to fight off the depression and get the help that he needed, Burgess sadly took the decision to end his life. Mind did an outstanding job of helping me to support him. They provide an amazing free service, as Mind representatives are trained to give advice and offer support, not just listen.

Mental illness does not get the recognition that it deserves, with many people like my friend never really getting the support they require to get better. Mind campaigns to get mental health issues greater publicity as an illness which requires treatment, and to provide that care where possible.
