Story

Dementia is the biggest health threat facing society today and there are no effective treatments to slow, prevent, or cure it. Almost a million people in the UK are currently living with some form of dementia, with Alzheimer’s disease the most common. Numbers are estimated to rise to over 1 million by 2025 and will soar to 2 million by 2051.

Sadly, 1 in 3 of us will be affected by dementia in some way and 225,000 people will develop dementia this year alone - that’s one person every three minutes.

As charity of the year for 2019, Virgin Money London Marathon, Alzheimer’s Society, and Alzheimer’s Research UK are joining forces for a one-year campaign, Dementia Revolution, to make a stand against dementia and power ground-breaking research.

To be able to advocate and run the London Marathon for Dementia Revolution is a privilege. All money raised will go to towards ground-breaking research and help scientists lead the charge to finding a cure.

Dementia research is desperately underfunded so if you would like to make a difference to those affected by dementia please feel free to donate, any contribution will make a difference.

If you do donate, please do add a song to the message so I can add it to my running playlist 😊

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for donating.
