As many of you know, I will be travelling to Morocco on 1 April to participate in the 25th Marathon des Sables. This will involve running 155 miles through the Sahara over 7 days, carrying all my gear and with temperatures probably into the 40°Cs.
Why the Parkinson's Disease
Society? My dad has had Parkinson's Disease for many years now, more recently complicated by Parkinson's dementia. It's an awful disease and has been tough on the family, especially my mum, who remains the main care-giver.
Given the magnitude of the task in hand,
I’m hoping for loads of sponsorship (fyi I am funding the cost of the
event myself). I have decided to run on behalf of three organisations, which
mean a great deal to me. This page gives details of how to give to the Parkinson's Disease
Society - if you'd prefer the Dom Pardey Trust or the Egmont Trust
pages, click on this link.
