Story

Update:

I’ll now be running 52 days from Monday 10th May to Wednesday 30th June as well as still being off sugar. 7 miles (1 hour) per day on top of what I have already achieved.

Both of my partners parents suffer with both Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Working full time, as a family we are still their main carers and see first hand just how terrible this disease is affecting them. Therefore I am going to challenge myself to give up sugar for the 40 days of lent as well as run at least 3 miles a day to help support families not as fortunate or as well supported as ourselves.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
