We are the UK’s eating disorder charity to end pain and suffering

Story

This Eating Disorder Awareness Week (27th February - 5th March) we'll be having a 'Silly Sock Day' on Friday at my school, on Sunday I'm having a 'Coffee and Cake' afternoon on the Sunday, and I'll be posting every day on my blog (www.recoveryourlifeback.wordpress.com), all to raise awareness of eating disorders and money for Beat, the UK's eating disorder charity. Beat supports anyone with an eating disorder, their friends and family, as well as professionals working with or worried about an individual in their care. These serious mental illnesses include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder.

This particular cause is really important to me. For the last 5 years of my life I've battled every single day against the horrible disease that is anorexia nervosa. It's caused me to be admitted to five different hospitals for months on end, it's taken me away from my family and it's contributed to the development of further mental health conditions. This disorder has also lost me friend. I am incredibly passionate about raising awareness and helping Beat - I want to help make sure that no one else has to go through this alone and eventually overcome eating disorders altogether. Together we can do this, thank you for your donations - big or small, everything helps!
