So, what am I actually signing up for??

On April 27^th we will depart from Tower Bridge and start rowing to Paris!  The journey will take approximately 7 days and I will form part of a team that at any given time will see 6 people rowing. We row for 2 hours and then stop for 2 hours and so on until we get to Paris.

We will pause briefly in Ramsgate to wait for the tide and again in Le Havre but essentially the sleep deprivation is more likely to be more of a challenge that the physical activity (She says !!)

We will be rowing in a Cornish Gig which is open to the elements and was somewhat smaller than I was expecting when we met for the first-time last weekend!!

The total distance covered is 816km with 100km of this across
the channel as we obviously won’t be crossing the shipping channel from Dover to Calais.

In September I will be completing the Hurley Burley in Wales.
A 10km swim that will hopefully see the tide behind us so I am looking forward
to this one a bit more although it starts in the sea before heading into an Estuary so there is no doubt in my mind that its going to be a bit Chilly!!

Finally, November will see me running the Dirt half. I am looking forward to this and have images in my mind of running when I was 15 and this being a lovely day out. However realistically I don’t think that I have ever run further that 6 miles and definitely not in the last 30 years so 13 miles off road could be interesting.
