Story
Dear Friends and Family
I am so excited that my school have chosen to raise funds as a community for the RNIB (Children, Young People & Family Services) via The Aysgarth to Aysgarth School 16 mile Sponsored Walk.
I shall be doing it blind, no need for a blindfold...but nearly everyone else will do half a mile blindfolded to add to the challenge and to see and feel things things my way.
My brother Hugo (6) and I (10) have a very rare genetic eye disease, but we haven’t let it stop us, as most of you know. I ride my bike freely around school, luckily my friends can see me coming! I’m a really good surfer, skier & swimmer. I have already won a few swimming medals, and am taking my training to a para competitive level. I’m also in the school swim team, competing against sighted peers.
I am able to do all this because I have had invaluable support from my friends, schools & family.
The funds raised will go to helping visually impaired children, young people & families, and also those with additional & complex needs to face their future with confidence!
Here is a link to some of the services they provide: https://www.rnib.org.uk/practical-help/children-young-people-and-families
Thank you for your support.
Love Archie & Hugo (P.s. Hugo is planning on doing 5 miles with me too! )
