Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In one months’ time, on the 2nd March I will be turning 30. I am so grateful to be healthy and happy and come this far!
In 2015, an estimated 292 000 African children died before their fifth birthday due to malaria. Compassion has been working in Uganda since 1980, and partners with 342 churches to support 95,852 children throughout the country. Across its child development centres, Compassion Uganda has observed that malaria is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in registered children. In fact, Uganda has among the highest incidences of malaria in the world; approximately 70,000 to 100,000 children die of the disease annually. Besides the physical and emotional suffering caused by malaria, there are also high costs involved in the treatment of the disease. Last year, 61 percent of annual medical expenses was spent on treating malaria across Compassion child development centres in Uganda.
With that in mind I have set up this fundraising page for Compassion UK, which will go to the Respond Initiative for Mosquito Nets in Uganda. All gifts can be giftaided if you can. It costs just £4.50 to provide a child with an insecticide-treated net that could save their life, which is the cost of a lunch.
If you wish to bless me for my birthday in this amazing way, I would be so grateful. You may also consider sponsoring a child. Any amount however small will be so gratefully received and please feel free to do this rather than give me a card. :) Love Ari
