Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In July 2015 I was told that I had a Ewings Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer (8 adult cases a year in the UK)
This was discovered after an operation to remove a tumour (the sarcoma as I later found out) from a nerve in my spine. As this is an aggressive form of cancer I had to undertake 6 rounds of chemotherapy each lasting 3 full days, this was started in the July and completed by the end of November.  Then followed 30 days of radiotherapy.  My treatment was complete on the 15th January 2016.

In April after my first scan post treatment I was told I was cancer free!

As the London Marathon falls exactly a year to this date I thought it would be a fitting way to celebrate by taking part.

I have chosen to run for the charity Sarcoma UK for obvious reasons.  The aim of the charity is to amplify awareness and help the lives of those effected by sarcoma.  If you can catch the diagnoses early enough you have a better chance of survival.  was one of the lucky ones, but unfortunately some friends I made on my journey were not.

Please give what you can to this great charity.

Thank you.
