On 19th October 2016 our beautiful baby girl Jenna was born at St John's Hospital. She was critically ill when she was born and had to be resuscitated.  It took the medical team some time to revive her and she spent sometime in St John's Special Care Unit before being transferred to the Royal in Edinburgh.

Shelley and I knew that the outcome for Jenna was not going to be positive as she had been so long without oxygen.  She fought really hard and our family's and her big sister were able to spend some time with her.   Jessica was able to sing her little sister 'Twinkle Twinkle' before having to say goodbye.

On evening of the 20th October  Shelley and I had to make the difficult decision to switch off her life support.  She died peacefully in her mummy and daddy's arms only ever knowing love.

Nothing can describe the feeling of having to leave the hospital without your baby.  When you lose a child you lose all the hopes and dreams that you have for them.  You lose all the first's (first word, first tooth, first day at school and so on).  We were very privileged that we were able to spend time with Jenna and she will forever be in our hearts.  

We are supporting Sands Lothian because they provide so much support to bereaved families.  Unfortunately charities like this are often unheard of until you or someone close to you are affected  by the death of a baby.  Sand's Lothian also work with hospitals and train midwives on how to deal with the death of a baby.  We would like to raise as much money as possible in memory of our beautiful and much loved baby Jenna.

Myself and a team of 'World Class Athlete's' will be participating in the Edinburgh Half Marathon.  Thanks to Graham, Barry, Dave, Craig L and Craig T for taking on the challenge and supporting us in raising money in Jenna's name.
