Baxall love a challenge. As the contractors working with Sussex Wildlife Trust delivering the new Rye Harbour Discovery Centre, our ears perked up when we heard about the forthcoming Ekiden Relay; a fantastic opportunity to raise funds for the Centre, support SWT and to get fit! 

A Japanese concept, the Ekiden Relay is a long-distance multi-stage relay race. Six runners each take on a stage in the order 5k, 2.5k, 7.5k, 2.5k, 2.5k and 1k; as such, the race is a challenge both of fitness and tactics. 

While some of us here are indeed elite athletes, completing Ironman and marathons galore, the rest of us can't run for toffee. This said, in the spirit of the good old Baxall ethos of teamwork, we have managed to pull together no less than two teams for this landmark event. We have:

Thank you for supporting us! Sussex Wildlife Trust are a fantastic local charity. The new Rye Harbour Discovery Centre is an exciting project that will create a much needed modern community space housing training and education facilities, a café, exhibition and retail space. A community wildlife garden will provide quiet space for visitors to enjoy the diverse flora and fauna of the reserve including rare and endangered plant species.
