Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After catching the "running bug" at the beginning of last summer (something I thought would never happen!), I set myself the challenge of my first half marathon. I've lost count of the number of times I've been a spectator at the Reading Half Marathon- standing in the crowd, hugging my lovely warm cup of tea, cheering on friends and swearing I would never be silly enough to take part......well it appears I may now be that silly!
I am running the half marathon on behalf of a charity called Rethink. Rethink is a mental health charity which works to help people with severe mental illness have a better quality of life. Rethink not only provides support to those suffering with mental illness but also campaigns for changes in both Government policy and the stigma and discimination suffered by those with mental health problems. This is a cause which is very important to me as I feel that all too often the subject of mental illness is pushed to the side and treated with a great deal of awkwardness inevitably making life very difficult for those suffering with the mental illness.
To find out more about this charity, please feel free to visit their website at http://www.rethink.org/about_rethink/index.html
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please please please support me in my mission to complete my first half marathon and help to support Rethink in the incredibly important work they do.
