Story
My name is Bethany and I am 13 years old. I am planning to ride 100 miles for the British Heart Foundation to help raise money for them as I have seen first hand the benefits of their work.
Back in 2011 my Grandad suffered a heart attack and was rushed through to hospital for life saving surgery to have stents fitted. Without the work of the NHS and research of the British Heart Foundation my Grandad is unlikely to have survived and I would have been without him today. My Grandad is always there for me, and therefore I would like to give something back to the charity so that they can continue their work, and continue to help those who have, or will suffer and fight like my Grandad.
The ride will take me from my home town of Desborough in Northamptonshire, through the countryside taking in sights such as the Royal Estate at Sandringham; and Castle Rising on my way to Hunstanton Pier on the East Coast where my Grandad grew up.
I will be accompanied along the route by my Dad, with friends and family offering support and providing refreshments along the way.
Heart attacks can often be the first time people become aware they have an underlying heart condition, and therefore any research and development in screening and treatment can only be a good thing.
Please can I ask for your support by way of a small donation as I try to reach and surpass my target of £500.
