There's always a first time for everything I guess, and in this case it was a skydive, quickly followed (fortunately) by a parachute descent. I did it with Andy, Deborah and Clare (the others go on 25 August), and of course my tandem instructor Peter.  The day went well apart from an administrative hiccup before the off. I'll spare you the details but I'd overlooked some essential paperwork  - suffice to say that we sorted it, with the ladies at the Jump Centre commenting "Well we've never known anyone sort that out before" to which we replied ""Well you've never met us before!!"

The jump was very exciting, I must say. It just feels wrong to be jumping out of a plane when you're almost three miles up, and then hurtling towards the ground at 120 mph, then when the canopy opens it feels like you've stopped in mid-air!
