On the weekend of the 22nd July I will be attempting to complete the Joss Naylor Lakeland Challenge in under 12 hours.

Starting at Pooley Bridge the route covers 48 miles with over 17000 of ascent across 30 Lakeland summits finishing at Greendale Bridge in Wasdale.

In April 2015 my friend Steve Cliff was diagnosed with MND. In July 2015, aged 55, Steve completed the JNLC finishing in 13:53 well under the 15 hours he was allowed.

Steve and his wife Wynn have supported me and many others on various long distance fell running challenges over the years so this event is to support Steve's fight back against MND by raising money for MNDA through his "running on life" event. (546612)

On my successful Bob Graham Round I ran alongside Steve on the ascent of Skiddaw.

“I always go at this pace at the start" said Steve "if the contender keeps up they are either very fit or they have gone off too fast”
