This principle is at the heart of the BirdLife Partnership and is why a major emphasis of BirdLife’s work is on organisational and individual capacity building to develop local skills in science, policy, conservation, management, communications and marketing. 

In addition to developing its own global network of national Partners, BirdLife actively supports the development of Local Conservation Groups that are supported by its National Partners.
