South Africa has the largest HIV epidemic and treatment program in the world, however children & adolescents are still not receiving appropriate prevention, treatment & care services. Adolescents are the only age group where deaths due to AIDS is not decreasing, and the HIV epidemic in South Africa has largely become a ‘youth epidemic’. CHIVA SA’s mentor ship, teaching & training program addresses the current challenges faced in child & adolescent healthcare which includes maternal & child health, HIV/AIDS, TB, mental health, SRH, abuse etc
