Story

Hello Commanders,

CMDR PLATER here back with another Elite: Dangerous Charity stream!

Things started for me in August 2016 when I was diagnosed with follicular thyroid cancer. 2 Surgeries, 3 radioactive Iodine Treatments and 2 years later we found it was anaplastic thyroid cancer, it had spread to my lungs and normally has a prognosis of 4-6 months. I got that diagnosis pretty much a year ago since then I have been through 6 cycles of chemo and things remained stable, its incurable so it's a matter of time, so I want to try to do some good before its all over.

We will be raising money for The British Thyroid Foundation again. They were the first place I turned to when I got my diagnosis.

This will be year number three, the previous two years we raised over £12000 and community really came together, I'm hoping we can do it again.

For the last 2 years I have just done bounty hunting for the 24 hours and that feels a little played out.

So this year I am doing "Challenge PLATER"

In previous years I have been joined by other creators every two hours for chatting, this year I would love to be joined by creators every two hours who will set me a challenge for those 2 hours, something I need to get, do or find.

It will be an absolute pleasure to have you all along for another 24 stint.

This will likely be my final 24 hour stream as my health and my luck is unlikely to hold up for another year (if it does I'm officially a medical marvel.)
