In June 2007 I went through one of the most difficult times in my life when my precious baby boy, Leyton, was born sleeping at 32 weeks. 

There was no reason for this devastation and the grief that this caused myself and my whole family.

It was at this point, I was introduced to SANDS. SANDS provided me the opportunity to talk to parents in the same situation who understood how I felt and what I was going through.

Then in February 2010 tragedy struck again and I found out my baby had died at my 20 week scan. It was like living the nightmare all over again. Once again there was no reason for this devastation but SANDS was still there offering support.

As I mentioned I am not the only one to suffer this tragedy. In 2016 around 15 babies died before, during or shortly after birth in the UK everyday. So that is why I have decided to raise money for this charity as no-one should ever have to go through the loss of a child.

By supporting this challenge you will help provide support to anyone affected by the loss of a baby, will help improve the care bereaved parents receive and promote the research in order to reduce the loss of babies' lives.
