I am very pleased to be running the 2019 London marathon, and grateful to the Nicky Alliance Centre for giving me the opportunity to raise money for them as I attempt my first marathon!

The Nicky Alliance Centre is a purpose built day centre and plays an important role in servicing  the needs of senior members of the community in Manchester. It provides a whole range of activities, a hot, three course kosher lunch and professional day care for its members including those with disabilities. While many of the Centre's members are active and self-sufficient, it also caters for members who are frail, have motor and sensory disabilities and difficulties with memory and cognition.

The Centre offers activities including: art classes, computer training, live entertainment, bridge club, keep fit, tai-chi and yoga. Reminiscence
 sessions, discussions, tea dances, day trips, theatre visits and guest speakers are other activities regularly offered by the Centre.
