I recently lost a gorgeous young friend to suicide, she was just 23.  My husband also just lost an amazing work colleague to suicide...he left a family behind.  I also have others close to me who are fighting a daily battle with depression.  If you haven't yet been affected by some kind of mental illness, the chances are that you will do.  When you see first hand the hell that they are facing every single day, you will realise that depression is very real and has devastating effects on everyone involved.  It isn't just having a 'down' day, it's so much more than that.  The fear and dread of simple every day tasks are now a scary huge mountain to climb, people become very isolated very quickly.

NHS resources are so limited and each person's situation is so individual but the treatment very often isn't available.  MIND offer some great additional provision with their Peer group & other sessions providing a place for sufferers to go for some recreation and support.
