I am taking part in the step up for 30 challenge for bowel cancer UK, the challenge requires me to do 30 minutes of physical exercise everyday throughout the month of June 2017. I have decided to do this because my father in law was recently diagnosed with bowel cancer and I would really like to make a difference to help raise awareness and help people get an earlier diagnosis.

• Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK, after breast, prostate and lung cancers.

• Every 15 minutes in the UK someone is diagnosed with bowel cancer. That’s over 41,000 people every year.

• Every 30 minutes in the UK someone dies from bowel cancer.
