Why I'm raising money for Ward 19:

In August 2017, at 34 years old and 40 weeks pregnant, I was diagnosed with Stage 2a Hodgkin's Lymphoma. By 12th September I started ABVD Chemotherapy and was having treatment every other week for 6 months. Ward 19 had become my new home - every time I walked in I was greeted with smiles, tea/coffee, genuine concern as to how I was, and lots and lots of support. 

I've chosen to raise money for Ward 19 because all of the staff who work out of that particular Ward are partly responsible for me being cancer-free and I want to give something back to help them continue to make patients, like me, feel that little bit more comfortable. 

Funds raised will help to buy equipment that isn't funded by the NHS; reclining chairs, visitor seating, heat pads, and anything else that contributes to the comfort of patients, families and carers whilst undergoing treatment.
