Story

For the fourth year running, this year I'll be organising, hosting and judging the annual Charity Gift Netrunner Tournament held here in Sheffield.

For the past three years, we've managed to raise over £5,000 between the three events, and my hope is that this years event will be the biggest ever. The Netrunner community has been amazing and supportive of this venture and I'm hopeful this will be another amazing event.

What is it?

This is an up to 100 person Android Netrunner charity tournament.  In order to enter, you have to either win an auction for one of the 47 different Netrunner ID pairings listed for the event at auction site 32auctions at the link listed below, or once those auctions have concluded, buy a Jank Tank ticket which will require you to play set, specific deck lists for the event .

The tournament will run for 6 rounds of Swiss, with no IDs allowed, and prizes will be awarded not only for the top players, but for all participants.

How does the auction work?

From Monday 1st of October all 47 auction lots will be available to be bid on;  the first group of 16 will close on Friday the 5th of October,  the second group of 16 on Monday the 8th of October, and the 3rd group of 15 on Wednesday the 10th of October.  The winning bidder will have secured a ticket to the event and must play the listed pairing at the event.

In the event that a bidder wins two pairings in the same auction, they are obligated to play the pairing for which they paid the most.  The other pairings will be offered to the second highest bidder first; if they do not wish to purchase them at that price, the winner will have the option to transfer their winning bid to another person provided that person pay the final price for the auction lot.  Any unsold auction pairings will be relisted for a Lightning Round after the 10th of October.  Usually this Lightning Round has only one or two pairings available.

Winners of each auction pairing receive a custom Alt-Arts for each of their ID as part of their entry prize.

Where is it taking place?

The event is being generously hosted at a location to be disclosed shortly.

When is it taking place and how long will it be?

The event will start at 12pm and consist of 6 rounds of swiss and a potentially a catered lunch.  I anticipate a 7.30pm finish after which there will be a variety of social activities planned for the Saturday evening.

There will also be a President of Servers event taking place on the Sunday, the details of which can be found in the event link below.

What if I have other questions?

Full details of the event can be found in the Facebook event links below, and you can contact me on there, or tweet at me at @NotTopGearRH on twitter, email me at highwire@gmail.com, or find me on Slack.
