Last year my uncle was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia. Fortunately he appears to be recovering from this, but it made me realise how very little I knew about the condition and how helpless I felt when I heard the news. I work closely with a team of haematology nurses so when they asked me if I would like to be involved in this fund raising opportunity I said yes.
