The Founders of Cheeky Chompers Climb Mountains to Support Young Cancer Patients
Not satisfied with launching a highly successful business that has just sold its millionth product, Julie Wilson and Amy Livingston, founders of Cheeky Chompers, are to take part in “The Climb” this June.
“The Climb” is a fundraising campaign to raise money to help support young cancer patients and their families. The Cheeky Chompers team will be donating to CLIC Sargent, a UK based charity committed to helping families limit the damage cancer causes beyond their health. From diagnosis, CLIC Sargent’s specialist care teams will step in, ready to help, support and guide. They provide a specialist package of support tailored to each young cancer patient and their family.
Julie and Amy will be taking part in the challenge on June 3rd-4th as they climb Ben Nevis Mountain in Scotland. Joining the two Edinburgh based businesswomen to climb the highest mountain in the British Isles, is Monica Kalozdi, founder of Kalencom Corporation, the brands US distributor that has successfully launched the Cheeky Chompers brand to the US market. With success already behind them it is clear the three women make a great team so teaming up on an issue they are all passionate about made sense.
Amy and Julie founded Cheeky Chompers in 2013 after their first babies were born. They launched the company with their award winning Neckerchew teether bib—a patented dribble bib with a permanently attached teether. In 2014, the partners appeared on The Dragons Den, which had an enormous impact on the company’s international recognition and growth. The Cheeky Chompers products are now sold in 35 countries and are recognised for quality, innovation and style.
Whilst Monica has scaled great heights as a climber, being one of the very few women to conquer Everest, as busy working mums Julie and Amy don’t have any mountain climbing experience, so this will be a challenge!
Commenting on partaking in “The Climb” Amy Livingston said: “We are all very excited about “The Climb” and raising money for CLIC Sargent. We feel passionate about the important work the charity does to provide support for these families and to make sure they know that they are not alone. Having founded a successful business through a lot of hard work and determination, we also want to empower women around the world to set their goals high and to never stop climbing.”
Julie Wilson continued: “It’s fantastic that we’ve been able to team up with our US distributor Monica and we look forward to showing her our home country of Scotland. Monica is an avid climber and will be a fantastic support for Julie and myself. Not only is this challenge a wonderful way to raise money to charity, it’s a great way to join forces with people who have been an integral part of making Cheeky Chompers the huge success it is today.”
The money raised from “The Climb” will help CLIC Sargent support each young cancer patient and their family.
