We are hoping to raise £42,000 from this extraordinary event, which would be enough to keep the Inpatient Unit at Warwick Myton Hospice running for seven days!

Story

At The Myton Hospices we believe that everyone matters for every single moment of their life; we focus on enhancing life when cure is no longer an option. We are leaders in compassionate end of life care; our work centres on our patients and involving them in decisions about their care. Perhaps most importantly we give them more quality time with their loved ones.Last year we supported more than 1,800 people and their families, in our three hospices, via our patient & family support services, and in the community through Myton at Home.

Ian and Mike are doing the charity walk in memory of Ian's late wife Katie who passed away in 2014 after a long battle with cancer. The team at Myton provided invaluable care during Katie's last few weeks not only to Katie but her family also.

Ian and Mike want to give back to the team that deserve as much support as possible so they can continue to provide their amazing services. This is why they are doing the walk self funded so all the money goes straight to Myton to support the patients and their families, as well as their amazing staff.

Mike has previously completed a charity walk of Mount Kilimanjaro for Myton Hospice. After hearing of the great support his fundraising provided to Myton, Ian was inspired and the two have joined together with the aim of raising £5,000 which will go direct to Myton Hospice.

As their main fundraising effort, Mike and Ian will be completing a gruelling 5 day walk from the start of the Grand Union Canal in Piccadilly to Leamington Spa which is approximately 125 miles.

Please join Mike and Ian in raising money for this great charity that is very close to the heart of thousands of families across the area. We thank you for any and all donations you can make, every little helps to ensure somebody's final days are as comfortable and safe as possible.
