Firstly I would just like to say a big thank you for visiting my JustGiving page!

What am I raising money for?

In mid-July I will be travelling to Kenya for 3 months to volunteer with ‘Balloon Ventures’ as part of International Citizen Service (ICS). This program aims to bring young people from the UK and Kenya together to break down the barriers that trap people in poverty by giving them the tools and know how to improve their livelihood and that of their country.

What will I be doing?

I will be living with a local host family and working alongside a team of volunteers from both the UK and Kenyan volunteers to assist local entrepreneurs in developing, pitching for funding, and launching their own innovative business ideas that address problems in their own community. To this end the aim is to develop sustainable, locally driven solutions through the power of entrepreneurship.

Why do I need your donation?

 

I would first like to say any money that you donate will NOT be used to pay for my place on the programme ( the cost of getting me to Kenya and living costs for the entirety of the programme are separate to this donation). I need to raise a minimum of £800 and all money will go directly to sustaining and growing  life changing projects such as this one. You can check out the work Balloon Ventures do here:

Additionally a percentage of donated money is used as seed capital for the volunteers businesses, and so by donating you are directly contributing to and impacting the lives of those local entrepreneurs who have embarked on the programme. 

 

So now I would like to humbly ask you to dig deep and donate, no amount is too small and without your support programs like this would not be possible.
