Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Please note that every penny donated goes to the charity.

An old school friend of mine, Roger Borrell lives a simple life in Karystos, Greece with his wife, Myra. Unfortunately he has been diagnosed with Parkinsons disease.

In 1987, I suffered a heart attack due to stress and my GP insisted I go to hospital where I had "complications". If I had been anywhere else, I would have just dropped down dead. The hospital was wonderful  and once I had recovered, I told my GP that I wanted to do something positive for our Health Service.

So, I felt that if we chose Karystos as the destination, we could fundraise for both the British Heart Foundation and Parkinsons during the restoration of an important Ferrari 308GTB, promotional events and the journey to Karystos itself. The car will be adorned with sign writing and corporate sponsors stickers.  We are hoping for local and national exposure and also hope for support from the Ferrari Owners Clubs in both UK and Greece.

See www.gtbrestorations.co.uk/charity-roadtrip for our blog and progress on the restoration
