Event: The Kilimanjaro Challenge, from 9 March 2017 to 19 March 2017
Participants: Chris Schofield and Dr Dave Dawson
We deliver outstanding care to children and families

Story

Chris Schofield (a partner at Schofield Sweeney solicitors) and Dr
Dave Dawson (a consultant anaesthetist at Bradford Royal Infirmary and the founder
of OSA Risk Management Ltd) will be climbing Kilimanjaro between March 9 and
March 19 this year to raise funds for the Forget Me Not charity.

Forget Me Not supports children in Calderdale, Kirklees, Wakefield
and Bradford with life-shortening conditions and their families.

The challenge requires Chris and Dave to climb to the summit of
the mountain at 5895m.  They will be supported by a guide and porters but
expect the walk to be a tough one.  They will be taking the Machame route
on the mountain which is graded as 'challenging to extreme'.  On the walk
they will experience high altitude and extreme temperatures (temperatures
during the day are in the region of 25C but at night fall to -30C).  The
walking Chris and Dave will do is demanding and they expect to be walking for
about 8 hours a day and on the final day about 14 hours.

Chris and Dave have put a fair amount of effort into organising
the trip and would like to try to raise funds for Forget Me Not.  It costs
£150 for a day of care for a child at the charity's facility at Russell House
and £500 for an overnight stay at the facility.  Dave and Chris (together
with Schofield Sweeney and OSARM Ltd) have underwritten the costs of the trip
(flights, accommodation, jabs, equipment etc). The charity does great work with
seriously ill children and their families but they are a relatively small
charity that doesn't always find it is as easy as some to raise the funds they
need to support their activities.  Dave and Chris hope to raise £4,000 for
Forget Me Not.

If you would like to sponsor Chris and Dave please make a donation
(however small) via their Justgiving Page.  Thank-you very much for your
support
