Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So after deciding earlier this year to tackle the Snowdon marathon and raise some funds for a good cause at the same time, the event is a mere three weeks away!  Training has been minimal due to what I can only confess to be a lack of self discipline!  And in these last few weeks I've been very concerned about how wise it is to press on with the event on such minimal preparation, hence the very late commitment to this just giving page!

However, there will be no pussying out!  The marathon is on!  I've never ran one before, and I have absolutely no intention of ever running one again!  Its a one shot deal, it will be very painful and I will not be completing it quickly!  I will however, be completing it!

It seems fitting to complete this challenge in memory of my dear mum, whom we suddenly lost to cancer just over ten years ago.  She was both the strongest and wisest person I have ever had the privilege to look up to.  She carried the burden of her aggressively spreading terminal illness solely on her shoulders, having us all, even our dad believe that her condition was controllable with treatment.  She didn't want any of us to despair for a second longer than we had to, and she tried to protect us from grief until her last breath, which came even quicker than she herself had anticipated it would.  

She was my rock and role model for what it is to define true strength of character, and this marathon is for her and for a charity that she would have loved to be part of.

So everyone, I'm on a last minute surge to get as much money across to this charity as I possibly can!  Share this far and wide, cough up and please make the pain I am about to endure worth while!!  For Sylvia and for Cherished Memories...no cuff too tough right! ;-)
