Story
Thank you for taking part in our team event and for your time and effort in supporting this brilliant charity. If you are sponsoring Chris to walk around the Grand Canyon Skywalk on Dec 5th - then again a HUGE thank you.
Chris' Story:
"At the age of 5 I fell over a 3rd floor balcony and though only slightly hurt, since that day I have been terrified of heights. Some of you will have witnessed some earlier terrors ...getting me down from the top of a pyramid in Mexico ..... me clinging to a post 40' above the ground, whilst shaking like a leaf, as I realised I was supposed to walk a tightrope at Bristol Zoo - thank you to the staff that got me down (and don't tell my 5 year old Grandson I was terrified!).
On Monday 5th Dec I am committed (though I feel sick to my stomach) to walk along the Grand Canyon Skywalk. This glass, horseshoe-shaped bridge enables visitors to walk beyond the canyon walls at Grand Canyon West, suspending them 4,000 feet above the riverbed and providing an unparalleled view of this natural wonder. Will I do it? Can I do it? I don't know but I am prepared to give it my best shot in honour of all those children who face fear everyday and all the adults scarred by the abuse in their past"
