Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Valentine's Day, 2013, my lovely Mum Celia finally lost her battle with ovarian cancer, aged 69.

Mum's last three weeks were spent at St Peter's Hospice in Bristol.  During these few weeks she was made more comfortable by sleeping in a special, electrically operated bed.  These cost the hospice £6,000. Myself and my family wish to raise enough money to cover the cost of another bed like this one for use by future patients.

In September 2013, Mike (my better half) and I ran the Cardiff 10k, followed by the Cardiff Half Marathon in October.  Now we are planning our third event - to run the Edinburgh Marathon in May 2014.  My sister and I are also hoping to do the St Peter's Midnight Walk in July.

Other events that have taken place to raise money for St Peter's Hospice include several shows in my Mum's home village of Backwell in Bristol, as she was a keen supporter of the local amateur dramatics groups.

Through all these events, we have already raised enough to pay for one bed at St Peter's Hospice, now we are hoping to raise enough for two.
