Tushinde Children's Trust supports vulnerable children in Nairobi's informal settlements. These children have often lost one or both of their parents to HIV & are being brought up by kinship carers. In response, Tushinde runs the Family Support Programme; that nurtures and strengthens families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are three friends taking on the second highest mountain in Africa and we've never done anything like it before!

Why? We all live in Kenya and and in taking on this challenge we thought we could raise money for an extremely great cause here in Kenya, Tushinde Children's Trust.

Founded in 2010, Tushinde is Swahili for ‘we succeed’. Tushinde is a registered Charity in the UK and Kenya and works with children growing up in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya by providing family support and tailored interventions. Through a carefully considered model delivered by expert social workers Tushinde is able to intervene where and when there is no other safety net to provide basic care, education and to prevent/stop neglect and abuse.

The work that the social workers do day in day out, with the support from a dedicated team of managers, finance and admin and the wonderful board of directors really does make a difference!
