Sail a tall ship...climb the rigging in a gale...get wet for fun....people told me I was mad and at the time it really felt that way. But thinking about the young people quietly holding families together who never have the opportunities or experiences that I have had spurred me on to great heights - literally!

My journey of personal discovery started at Greenwich and finished 1250 nautical miles later at the port of Sines in Portugal. In between was the North Sea, the English Channel, the Bay of Biscay and the North Atlantic.

Your support will gave me the inspiration to carry on during the night watches, windy weather and constant rope drills.

Every penny you donated has gone to provide opportunities for youngsters to access a normal life.
