Jo’s Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting women affected by cervical cancer and cervical abnormalities. Since its foundation, the charity has grown into a major national charity which now sets its sights on actually eradicating cervical cancer altogether. We have been amazed to learn how common cervical abnormalities are among women, how the disease is treatable if caught early, and that so many women go untreated because they are either unaware or embarrassed to seek help.

The work of Jo’s Trust has many parallels with Freemasonry in that it provides a support mechanism for woman (and families) who have been effected by cervical cancer. Just as campaigns such as Movember have removed the stigma from prostate cancer, Jo’s Trust aims to remove the stigma and raise awareness of cervical cancer. Along with being a worthwhile cause, we feel that by supporting a women’s charity we are acknowledging our mothers, wives and girlfriends who have supported us in all that we do.
