Story
As a musician Dave is often asked to donate his time and talent for one worthy cause or another, and in all the time he's be doing these charity gigs he had never been asked to do one for Crohn's & Colitis, an illness he has suffered with for the past 12 years. So we put our thinking caps on as to how we could raise funds and awareness to put this hidden illness on the map. With the help and support of local talent and Al's Dime Bar the Crohn's & Colitis Fundraising Gig was born!https://www.facebook.com/events/918389698224255/
We'll be kicking off the event on the 16th May, just before world IBS day on the 19th May, at Al's Dime Bar on North Parade Bradford for an evening music, arts and entertainment. If you can't make it along please feel free to donate here to show your support.
Worldwide, five million people live with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative
colitis, conditions known as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). In both UC and
Crohn's parts of the digestive system (the gut), which includes the intestines
or 'bowels', become sore and inflamed. Anyone can develop IBD - and at least
261,000 people are affected by Ulcerative Colitis (146,000) and Crohn's Disease (115,000) in the UK. There isn't a cure at the moment but
a lot can be done with medication and surgery to help keep symptoms under
control.
