We fund research into type 1 diabetes to find a cure for type 1 diabetes

Story

Hello, I'm Kirsty

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes the day after my 7th birthday - it wasn't exactly the birthday present I wanted.

Ever since then I have to have an insulin injection at least 4 times a day and also have to prick my finger 4 times to check my blood sugar levels - ouch!

My dad and some friends formed Crusaders Against Diabetes (www.crusadersagainstdiabetes.org) to raise funds for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

For the last 3 years they have cycled from London to Paris and raised over £15000 to help fund research to find a cure for type 1 diabetes.

This year John Jocham and Tony Ward completed the ride which took place on 15-17 June

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now - even if you only give £1 it will make a difference.

Finally please tell all your friends, family and colleagues about the crusaders and this site and tell them to pass the message on.

Thank you very much.

Love

Kirsty
