Since my son was diagnosed as Type 1 Diabetic on 7th July 2010, we have devoted much of our spare time to raising funds for a cure. For Samuel, the 7th of the 7th this year will mark the 7th year of testing his bloods, wearing an insulin pump all the time and counting the carbohydrate content of all his food. He continues to amaze us all, coping admirably day in and day out, and never complaining at all. He makes it look like it's plain sailing, which of course, it's not!

For other children with this chronic condition, it's not so easy. A cure is needed for the tens of thousands who struggle to control their blood sugars, and to save those who will suffer complications as a result.
