Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Myself and David Browne are arranging this event because DBA effects my family's life on a daily basis.

Diamond Blackfan Anaemia (DBA) is a rare bone marrow failure disorder, usually diagnosed before 12 months of age. DBA patients fail to produce red blood cells properly and may need treatment ranging from monthly blood transfusions to regular steroid treatment, and in some cases bone marrow transplant.

My wife, Jane was diagnosed with this condition at the age of 4 years old, We then went on to have a child (Megan now aged 22) who was also diagnosed with this condition at birth. Jane manages the condition with daily steroids whereas, Megan is reliant on a blood transfusion every 3 weeks, it also has a lot of other complications relating to the condition. DBA is very rare with only approximately 150 cases in the UK. The charity receives only voluntary donations, which is why your support will be greatly appreciated.  This condition has many other symptoms... to find out more visit our DBA UK page below;

We have 20 kind riders taking part in this event on the 8th,9th and 10th of July, who we are extremely grateful to,
