The road to the 2012 London marathon, well what can I say, a grueling 6 months of training in the snow, rain and freezing cold. Having to be dedicated and maintaining the discipline to stick to a fitness plan, rather than sitting on my back side.
But this challenge is nothing compared to what will be in store on the day of the race. Hundreds and thousands of runners and spectators all doing their part to support one of the greatest long distance races in the world. Raising money and awareness for charity by taking part and completing 26 miles of what I can imagine to be one of the toughest physical and mental challenges one can achieve.
So I am asking for all your support in helping me raise a minimum of £2000 for HASTE (Heart and Stroke Trust Endeavor). HASTE was formed in 2003 to combat the UK`s leading cause of death and morbidity. This charity is important to me due to related illness within my own family, and I would like to do my part in supporting HASTE but I need your help.
For those who know me its worth digging deep into your pockets to see me suffer on the day of the race as I battle the 26 never ending miles. For those who don’t I can assure you your donations will be going to a great cause, and I’m sure there will be some embarrassing race photos of me on the verge of passing out, or in a heap on the floor (after the race of course).
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
