We are dad and daughter who are both seeing and going through 'first hand' the crisis young people and their families are facing with mental health issues.

I (Rebecca), after 4 years of battling with my own head after multiple GP visits, hospital trips, mental health appointments and inpatient stays, feel it's time to give something back. It's been a journey, but I finally feel like it's my time where I can do something to help thousands of other people and their families. I plan to do this with my dad, who has been one of my biggest supports throughout it all. I'm not out of the woods yet, but I'm ready to make a change and face these mental health challenges head-on. This isn't for me or my dad. This is for every young person, their families, every caregiver, teacher and youth worker etc., fighting against this growing issue around mental health in young people (up to 25) - this is a modern-day invisible enemy and is a 'pandemic' in its own right!

We plan to do this 80mile walk, 'The Dalesway', starting from Ilkley, West Yorkshire, to Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria, on June 20th 2022. We hope to complete it with a fair wind and lots of training within 5 days. Today was training day number one, and we completed our first 9mile hike.
