The skatepark at Meadow Lane in Oxford is an invaluable resource serving the skating and biking community in the city and the surrounding areas. Additionally the skatepark provides a space for graffiti artists to practice their craft as well as providing discounted skateboard and BMX lessons to children and adults wanting to learn.

A strong, supportive and inclusive community has built up around the park under the tireless work of the Oxford Wheels Project, formed back in 1997 to find and fund a permanent skating and BMX facility for Oxford.

What stands out to me about the park is that it is a home from home for many of the users of the park, including myself.

Money raised will go towards maintenance costs and providing discounted skateboarding and biking lessons to the children of the city and surrounding areas.

To pay my penance I'll be running the Oxford Half Marathon on October the 7th. Thank you for reading!
