Hi my name is Daniel Bernard and I have been selected to play basketball for Great Britain in the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi in 2019. The Special Olympics are for people who, like me, have intellectual disabilities. I have learning difficulties and Autism but that does not stop me playing basketball. I have training sessions every week and also train in my garden at home. I am really good at long distance shots. I love all sport and as well as loving basketball I also love football and I have a season ticket at Arsenal. I go to all the home games , l love watching the team play and I always sing and shout loudly for Arsenal.
It costs £2,500 for each athlete to go to the Special Olympics and each athlete has to fund themselves. I am working hard at fund raising and doing sponsored events but I would be really grateful if anyone could help me get to my target.If anyone would like to help towards the cost please donate on My Just Giving page for Special Olympics East Herts (SOEH) and put DANIEL BERNARD in the comments please.
