Story

Firstly, Thank you for taking time to visit my Just Giving page.

This time last year I had just applied for the 2019 Brathay 10 in 10.
Not knowing what to expect, the 10 months that followed were to say the least, exhausting, eventful and thoroughly rewarding. The training was hard, the racing even tougher and the injuries frustrating.
However, after arriving at the event in less than perfect shape, (having numerous niggles), what followed was a life changing experience.
As for the next 10 days.....I struggled to get out of bed each day, the pain was constant, the physio torture, and believe it or not the need to eat so much was the worst part!
All that said, it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and what a personal challenge!
Spending that time in the company of 16 fantastic athletes, the truly amazing support staff and the students from the University of Cumbria was special and inspiring.
The funny, (or daft) thing is that I said NEVER again!!!
So, I surprised everyone, including myself and, yes, you got it, I applied again for the 2020 event!

“Brathay Trust helps 1000’s of children and young adults every year. Youngsters at risk of exploitation, criminality or abuse and helps them to overcome barriers they face in life. They provide a safe environment and help to grow confidence allowing every youngster a chance for a better future.”

A huge thanks for the generosity everyone showed during the 2019 10 in 10, and I really hope the support I received both personally and financially, for this great cause, will continue through to the 2020 Brathay 10 in 10.
