Story
Neither of us would ever be described as athletes and, if we’re both honest, not particularly fit either but last October we came up with the idea of cycling the 140 mile Coast to Coast from Whitehaven to Tynemouth over a weekend. So on Friday 12th April we will be wetting our rear tyre on the shoreline of Whitehaven and plan to be wetting our front tyre two days later on the shoreline of Tynemouth.
We have funded the trip ourselves so all donations go straight to the charity. We have both at times in our lives suffered mental health problems and have chosen to raise funds for MIND.
Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling. We believe no-one should have to face a mental health problem alone. MIND listen, give support and advice, and fight your corner.
Everything MIND do is rooted in the experiences of people who know what it’s like to live with a mental health problem. That includes the thousands of people who rely on MIND local and national services, incredible supporters and campaigners, fundraisers, volunteers, staff and trustees.
MIND provides life-saving information when people need it most. They bang on doors and call for change; they demand that people get the support they need and the respect they deserve. And show that there are actions we can all take to challenge stigma and transform experiences of mental health for the better.
