Help Sir David Attenborough and Suffolk Wildlife Trust raise £1 million to create a spectacular new nature reserve near the East Anglian coast

Story

Land drainage in the twentieth century destroyed huge areas of vibrant wetlands but there is now a chance for Suffolk Wildlife Trust to buy and restore the remnants of the Suffolk Broads marshes to the west of Lowestoft, creating 1011 acres of interconnected wetlands.

I am fundraising for this £1m land purchase by composing a piece of music that is both inspired by, and partly recorded in that landscape. For every pound you donate, I will compose and record 1 second of a sweeping musical soundscape reflecting and inspired by the Suffolk Broads. A mixture of orchestral, folk and contemporary instrumentation as well as 'found sound' recorded on location, will become a final piece of music up to 1011 seconds long (16 minutes and 51 seconds) - a second for every acre of this amazing new reserve.

Please ensure I have to work hard for this donation to the Trust and that this a long piece of music - not a jingle! The final piece will be donated to Suffolk Wildlife Trust and will be available to hear online in the new year. Thanks for supporting wildlife through music and remember - Every Second Counts!
