Story

Celiac Disease Foundation drives diagnosis, treatment, and a cure to improve the quality of life for all people affected by celiac disease and non-celiac gluten/wheat sensitivity.Since its founding in 1990, Celiac Disease Foundation has funded and executed national initiatives in three principal areas to bring an end to the suffering caused by celiac disease: medical research, patient and healthcare provider education, and public policy advocacy.

It is this same passion that has led my mother to help thousands of people. I want to continue the family legacy and show my dedication to increasing the quality of life in as many people as I can. I was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2000. This was years before the craze you see today. Limited options were available even in health food stores. My twin brother and I didn't know the impact this would have on our lives at the time. My mother was upset with the lack of options and wanted better for her children. She started trying new recipes herself and after years of conferences, testing and determination she finally had recipes that worked. Our family went all in and opened the first gluten free bakery in Denver back in 2004. Saying it was rough is an understatement. The recession of 2007 hit us hard and almost took us out of business. We wouldn't go down without a fight. We got into every major food supplier like Sysco and US Foods. We are 13 years strong this year and have made the lives of thousands better through our products.

It is my duty to stay true to the family's name and show my dedication towards the cause. Just as my parents went all in, I'm doing the same. I got into running a few months ago, so I don't have the years on training like others do. This has never stopped me in the past and I know I can reach the finish line. Help me make the most out of my efforts by supporting the Celiac Disease Foundation!
